About Us

Nathan and Giselle Martin have been at the forefront of worldwide, tennis fitness innovation and tennis fitness training for the past 16 years. They have helped players of all levels – from Wimbledon champions to social hitters and school kids – reach their potential through improved physical performance, injury reduction and ongoing education. The ‘Martin Method’, a brand name in the world of tennis fitness trainers, takes the experience and knowledge gleaned from working with athletes like Lleyton Hewitt, Sam Stosur, Martina Navratilova, Jennifer Capriati, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Monica Seles and applies it to all players of all standards. It’s a complete tennis fitness program, stretching from warm up and cool down routines to speed, agility, power, tennis footwork and much more. Nathan and Giselle have trained five world number one players and are based in Bondi, Sydney.

Nathan Martin - Strength and Conditioning Trainer

Nathan has worked on the ATP and WTA circuits since 1999, including a spell as head tennis trainer at the renowned Sanchez Casal tennis academy in Barcelona.
He works currently with Lleyton Hewitt while developing new programs to take tennis fitness forward and empower the next young group of players coming through.

Giselle Martin - Strength and Conditioning Trainer

Giselle has worked on the WTA circuit since 1999, guiding Arantxa Sanchez, Martina Navratilova, Sam Stosur and Casey Dellacqua.
Giselle was part of the 2000 Sydney Olympic medical team, working with competing athletes. She has lectured in health education at numerous international schools and academies.

Mark Jones - Strength and Conditioning Trainer

Mark has a broad sporting and athletic background with over 20 years experience in competitive tennis, Crossfit, gymnastics strength training, mobility, conditioning, Strongman and Iyengar yoga. Mark brings this multi-disciplinary approach to his training (along with a good sense of humor & compassion).
Mark trains hard year round, testing the latest research and modern trends on himself from the health, and fitness industries. This ensures he stays on top of the latest practices and methodologies to achieve the most for his clients, when and where they need it.

Carlos Cuadrado - Tennis Coach

Carlos is a world renown tennis coach and a member of the Tennis Fitness Team. A former Spanish professional tennis player, winner of Roland Garros Juniors, reached highest ATP ranking 222. Transitioned to a highly skilled tennis coach with a proven track record in developing tennis players at elite levels both nationally and internationally. Coached WTA Top 10 players - Svetlana Kutznetsova, Daniela Hantuchova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

Aaron Zimmerman - Strength and Conditioning Coach

Aaron is a world renown Strength and Conditioning Coach and a valuable member of the Tennis Fitness Team. Aaron was born in NZ, starting working at the Australia Rugby Union and then at the Cronulla Sharks, and more recently been appointed full-time as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at West Tigers (rugby league) for the last 3 years.
Aaron brings a wealth of knowledge both in the Private and Professional setting and has a passion for helping other coaches taking their skillset to the next level.

Paul Bounty - Physiotherapist

Paul has over 30 years of clinical experience in private practice, with a special interest in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics. In 2011 Paul gained his APA Sports Physiotherapy Title, and has worked with various sports over the years, most notably in Tennis, as a Tennis Australia Physio working at several Challenger, Futures and ITF Junior events.
